Creed

I'm a huge Rocky fan, but especially the first movie which is one of the best movies ever made IMO. Lots of people forget that it won 3 Academy awards including Best Picture.

Creed is every bit as good as the first Rocky. Great story, great dialogue and Sly probably deserves an Oscar for his performance.

If you liked any of the Rocky movies at all trust me, go see it! Best movie I have seen in years.

Thanks Keith, great to hear. Just watched Rocky last night and the beginning of II, as some station was running a marathon. Just going to be hard to talk the better half into it. I may have to sit through the next "Notebook" like flick to see this one on the theater

Just got my awards committee screener DVD in the mail on Friday and am looking forward to watching it.  I've had mixed feelings about some of the sequels but have heard good things about this one.
Still pretty amazing that Sly has been able to keep revisiting the character and keep the  'Rocky' franchise going for going on 40 years.

It's for the Screen Actor's Guild Awards (I've been a Guild member since 1977).
This year I am on the nominating committee for the Motion Picture awards (there is also a committee for the Television side of things).  The awards are presented every year, in January.

That's super cool! The first Rocky is great and the seocn is good. The 3rd and 4th are fun but obviously just made toi make sh!tpots of money. 5th is just OK but 6th (Rocky Balboa) is actually pretty  good. This one is simply great. Don't let me color your judging though.  ;)

I agree with these rankings Major!  Need to see the new one still.  Glad to hear it's getting good reviews.

yeah, every one I told "I'm going to see/just saw Creed" thought I was talking about the band. I don't know even one of their songs.

No loss there, Keith.  Creed had a watered down, vanilla 'alt rock' sound, kinda like Nickelback.  Pretty freaking lame.

I once fell asleep at a Creed concert my Gf at the time had dragged me to. I think that was the beginning of the end. Not that I fell asleep, but that she wanted to see Creed
