All the stores in my area that sell brewing ingredients do as a sideline.
They are respectively, a farm supply store, a restaurant supply house and a hardware store. One of them has a guy on staff that has brewed, but is a bit short on knowledge, "beer ferments fine in 7 days." As far as the others, zilch, zip, nada in the advice department.
Two of them store dry yeast and hops at room temp. I have bought liquid yeast in summer from the one that keeps it refrigerated and will provide a bit of ice for you to get it home in good condition. Also odds and ends if I forget something or change my recipe at the last minute and don't want to pay minimum shipping charges for a small purchase.
