Pretty Funny

Got a pretty good chuckle at this old AB ad from Stan's blog. Note the condescending tone toward breweries that used what they considered inferior fermentables.   ;D

Yeah, I laughed when I saw that. I swear I saw a billboard when I first moved to Illinois that said "Busch: proudly brewed with Illinois corn", but I can't find evidence of such a thing.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Love it. It's all marketing. Have you ever met someone in marketing?  I'm not a believer in an afterlife, but if I were I'd say that they have no soul.

For sure. That ad is a line of BS about a mile long. Even funnier since they've embraced a flavorless adjunct in a big way.

I wonder what that old ad would say about rice.  ;)  I also like how it says that "corn beer" leads to stupidity.  LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.  :D

A day without beer is like... just kidding, I have no idea.

I think its dead on, and amazing that they knew the effects of adjunct beer almost 30 yeast before the Volstead Act created NASCAR

How long before the BJCP updates the 1A and 1B guidelines to include this important information?

Rice must be a fine malt then.

Funny how off the "science" is in that ad overall.  White bread is probably the worst thing you can eat on a regular basis.  Corn bread would actually be better for you.   ;D

Of course bud was like a very different beer back then.

Where the heck are we going?  And what's with this hand basket?

This reminds me of a great Bill Hicks bit. Definitely NSFW: https://www.google.com/search?q=bill+hicks+marketing+advertising&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=&gws_rd=ssl

Heard the story about the truck driver that accidentally got locked into a Budweiser warehouse late in the day on a Friday?  By Sunday he was dying of thirst so he finally opened up a can of Bud, dumped the contents out on the ground, pissed in the can and drank it.
