Take beer from keg back to fermentor
« on: December 26, 2015, 08:00:25 pm »
I've got a Saison in the keg fully carbed that I did a Hochkurz mash on...I know..stupid...I'd really like to put it back in the fermenter with Orval dregs to dry it out...anyone done anything like this?

I haven't done exactly that but I have warmed beer up and krausened in a corny keg. No problem.

If your worried about oxidizing I think the new fermentation would absorb any added oxygen. At least I think it would with yeast. I am not sure about dregs. I have no experience there.

Hmmm...I wonder if you could just warm it up and degass the keg and add the dregs to the keg and let it ferment out in there. You'll want to replace orings most likely after that. Would beat having to transfer it.
