Already have a spreadsheet made up.  8) We have 21 that have informally volunteered.

So late April ship... means that we take official volunteers (send me PM with real name and address) from early March until March 18(? 25?). Then brew the challenge beer if you want. Shipping must complete by the end of April. Review in May.

Send 4 beers in total, including one local offering.

Sound good everyone?

Sorry for your loss Jim.  It sure takes time to get past that loss.  It does get better as everyone has said already.

Just a quick follow up on the challenge beer. DME only, or can it supplement LME? I have an extract batch on the schedule for training a newbie that is mainly LME but I was going to add DME to bump it up anyways. Does that fall into the fair game plan?

The original challenge was going to be a more restrictive, but the rules were loosened up and the way I read it is that it must contain DME, but doesn't specify how much or what other sources you may use for your fermentables. I think your planned beer should be fine. Mine contains both DME and LME, and I stuck pretty close to the original guidelines.

thanks Eric, it will be in there. Brewing it on the 28th. May not be consumption ready upon shipping, but should be close as well as the other 2 I have planned

I have been away from the forum a few days and I am so sorry about Jim's loss and thank you Amanda for seeing the swap through.  I have one regret regarding my folks (both have been gone for several years) - I didn't start brewing until after both were gone.  They would have loved these creations.  But I share them with my kids!

Again, my condolences to you, Jim.  I wish you comfort at this difficult time - there's only one Dad.

Really sorry for your loss Jim -

If you feel like it...It would be neat to hear a story or something about your dad...what did he do...what was his favorite beer...was he a hard ass...or a teddy bear...he lived to 92...he musta been pretty tough...

Quick question: 12-oz bottles or bombers?

Hope to be bottling the first beer tonight.
