I don't understand the colors. What do they mean?

Each color corresponds roughly to a season. Blue is winter, yellow, spring, etc.

I think he was being sarcastic because in Belgium they only have two, winter and raining.

I usually map out my brew days once I get my work schedule (I typically get it in 3-month blocks). Right now it's hard to tell because I still don't have the rest of my winter schedule. I have such a backlog right now that I'm not sure how much is going to overflow into my spring brewing:

Winter brews still on the docket:
Spring Swap Challenge beer (extract Helles w/S-189)
Small batches of single base malt pale ales using MO, GP, Pearl, Optic and Halcyon
Series of brews using WY1768 (Brown Ale > ESB > English BW)

Once those are done my next ones will depend on how late into spring I am when I'm ready to start:
WLP570 - Hoppy pale ale > Duvel clone
WY3711 Table saison - possibly fruited or with hibiscus
Eric B.

I used to have some fall spring and summer brew schedules. I don't really do that anymore-I enjoy most styles all year long, and brew whatever I feel like at the moment-regardless of season.

I dont schedule per se, but I tend to brew whats easiest on the system per weather. Example, easier to chill lager wort to 50F when my well water is below 50... easier to hold 98F in my fermentation chest if its 98F outside

I do raise my eyebrows when I see that lambics can be brewed all year round. Good luck with that! Traditionally, in Belgium lambics can only be brewed between the feast days of the two dragon slayer saints: Saint Michael (29 september) and Saint George (23 april).

This winter is a national catastrophe because it has been too warm. So rain only :(

Typically the only beers I firmly schedule are ones for St. Patrick's day and Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is usually the most involved, if I'm trying a new recipe I'll give it a test run in late spring/early summer. Thanksgiving is a big deal in my family, and the challenge of brewing a good "drink all day" session beer is a lot of fun.
Corn is a fine adjunct in beer.

And don't buy stale beer.

I plan only one beer ahead. Next one is a hop fu clone which is going to be fun as both Amarillo and Simcoe are completely unobtainable.

Depending upon how much beer I can drink the remainder of the winter will determine how much space I can allocate to new beers. I'm trying to cut a few pounds and I have a couple vacations scheduled so that may not be very much.

Tentatively my plans for the spring are to brew a couple saisons and an XPA.

YES. "Need" being the key word here. I think I may really try for a Pivo-type Pils this spring. Spalt and Saphir are the stuff my dreams are made of. :D

I guess I should brew a Maibock with all of the WY2206 we have around here. But I'm also planning out another Berliner Weisse. Hopefully this one goes better than my last vomit-beer attempt at one. I know Myles has a series of WY3068 beers coming up too.

So... basically German beers. That's what's on the docket. Gonna be a tasty spring!

I have an imperial pilsner planned for the next week or two that will be ready to serve by the end of May.

I agree, I have an alt scheduled pretty soon and an American amber using simcoe, summit, and saphir.

I brewed a Helles Bock for competitions this spring, if it turns out as expected.  If not, I will still get plenty of use out of the 2206 yeast I used in it.  Love those malty Bavarian lagers.

Funny you mention that. I'm wanting to brew a Pivo-ish pils coming up soon. Man is that stuff crushable !
