NHC Coming Fast
« on: January 24, 2016, 07:00:36 PM »
The NHC application window starts in 8 days (February 1 - 7) and beers must be shipped to judging cites in 45 days (must arrive by March 9).

Only a couple more weeks to get those beers brewed and ready to ship.

So, any prospective NHC beers being brewed this weekend? Or next?

I am brewing a Blonde Ale next weekend. I bottled a Best Bitter yesterday.

I have a couple of lagers lagering right now. They will be ready when shipping for the competition begins. My best to everyone who enters!

I have several lagers in various stages. Might do another Helles, a CAP, and Dunkel.

The plan is to have many to chose the best from.

Same here, hopefully.

And then I hope they last! These little 2.5g batches can blow the keg surprisingly quick when they're on point. ;)

I'm kegging a Dunkel today that I plan to enter and brewing a Belgian Strong Golden next week.

I was also hoping to get a Belgian pale done, but if the deadline is March 9, it probably won't be ready.  I thought we had more time...

I think I'm entering two. They're already brewed. I'll be entering a Belgian dark strong ale (brewed 12/30/14) and an American Porter that I just kegged last week. I could probably rush another beer in, but I think I'm content with sending the two.

Heading home from judging Best of Craft. We had 17 tables of 3 judges each and did 1200 entries in 3 sessions. What impressed me was Randy Scorby's table doing 74 IPAd in one day. He's a machine!

I here ya! That is the worst part about small batches. The good ones go way too fast. I may be guilty of horsing from time to time.

If I enter, it will be to support the cause. Might have 4-6 to chose from

I keep killing off beers that would be worth entering... I just go with what I have at the time, as long as it is worthy of entering.  May just be sours this year...lagers get guzzled by the crew.

It would be nice to get out of the first round again. Been striking out the last couple of years.

I know what you mean.  The first year I entered, I got a silver in the finals.  The second year, got 2 through the first round but nothing in the finals.  the next year, nothing in the first round...I'm going to wrong way!!

Screw the major award, I just want a medal with a purple lanyard. Well, that and to hug/pickup Janis on stage for my picture in Zymurgy, but that's a whole 'nother story. Haha  ;D
