Session IPA
« on: February 03, 2016, 05:08:44 am »
Trying to decide if a hoppy Pale Ale could go into the Specialty IPA category as a Session IPA. Session IPA isn't listed in the sub titles. Is that even a thing? This is a 1.052 OG beer with a lot of late hops, but not too much bitterness.

It would go under 21B, specialty IPA.

One important note (assuming this is an NHC entry):

This will be NHC category 17C.

21B is the BJCP category and not used for NHC entry.

Thanks for pointing that out. Just printed out a copy of the 2016 NHC Guidelines.

I would avoid specialty IPA if its not very bitter.
Maybe it would be better as an APA?
