Judging Center Preference

Any one else judge or steward in the NHC finals and NOT get your first choice judging center?  This has happened to me the last two years.  Instead of driving my entries to the location I have to ship across the country.

I can tell you that volunteering at a judging site does improve receiving your selections. If you didn't help with last year's competition somewhere, you are likely to suffer now. Be sure to participate as a NHC volunteer at one of the sites to gain an advantage next year.

I did volunteer and work the competition in Grand Rapids and San Diego.  I was a cellar steward in Grand Rapids and a table steward in San Diego.

Maybe your first selection was a really high demand spot?  I've judged the past couple years for Finals and received my first preference the last couple of years (although it's still a shipping location since it's 7-8 hours away).
