Is there more to this? Not seeing much through my phone. Just a quick couple lines about the free advertising AB got. Will have to check on laptop

There's a letter from the BA to Manning attached to article. I guess I'm old, I don't do much surfing on my phone.

My understanding is that Peyton has a vested interest in a AB distributorship and his comments were probably self-serving. Don't be too surprised that he does AB commercials once his NFL career is over. Julia's letter is probably a waste of time. Business over taste.

I believe Manning has interest in 2 CO AB distributors and also owns 25 Papa Johns throughout CO, I don't see him giving up major endorsement money but he might sample few craft beers just for the hell of it;)

Yep. I'm thinking he knew he was retiring and figured he'd throw in a few shameless plugs to go out in a blaze of glory.

Please, he's getting paid for every one of those bud drops. The man is not a fool, much as he may have sounded like one post game.

I certainly never suggested he was stupid. And I assumed he was getting paid from Bud but it makes sense that he is simply promoting his business investment.

No, you didn't and my comment was not meant as a personal affront to you. Others suggested that AB got free advertising and that perhaps this was done on a whim to promote Peyton's interests.  I contend that Peyton's choice of words was much more contrived, I suspect by contract that AB satisfies handsomely. Probably works pretty well too, dammit.

If he owns AB distributorships he probably also distributes craft beer.

I also assumed he was paid. But I thought it was cool anyway.

Exactly. Peyton is a very smart guy, on the field and in business ventures and endorsements. He knows what he's doing every step of the way. I just meant that it was a well placed, smart plug for a guy who won't be around the league to face the consequences next year.

The local media reported that both of his distributors are in Louisiana. There is still a ton of interest and support for Peyton here.

Tired of hearing about "the man of the hour". I want more Von Miller.
