Minneapolis HB Clubs
« on: June 21, 2010, 11:08:48 am »
Alright, I have been brewing 3 1/2 years now and never really considered a club.  But, at this point I feel I could use a touch of help to improve on my already wonderful beers as well as be a little bit of help to some of those starting out.  I was thinking a club might be a nice way to get into this in a face to face setting.

Here's the deal: St. Paul HB Club is frickin' huge, which is not what I am looking for.  Something smaller would be nice and I am wondering who or where I might be able to find something like this.  Any ideas? Thanks!
*Tapped:
Peach/Raspberry Ale 4.5%/18IBU (6/6/10)
Golden Promise IPA (Keg #2) - 5.8%/73IBU (7/3/10)
Jason's Ball & Chain - 6.4%/63IBU (7/17/10)
All His Merry Men - 4.9%/23IBU (8/1/10)
Citra Amber Ale - 4.8%/23IBU (8/1/10)

I belong to a club that meets in Monticello.
We have members from all over the west metro.
River City Brewers
We're a relatively new club & don't yet have our own website, but one of our members is working on that.
Let me know if you want more details.

Mnstorm99,

I know you said that you didn't want to join St Paul club because of the size but I would invite you to attend the Minnesota Home Brewers Club.  We are actually larger than St Paul but are a little more organized and definitely have a friendly vibe.  Our meetings are sometimes large 100+ people but the last one there were less than 20.  We have a wide range of brewers from all grain to extract to just beer lovers.  I guarantee your brewing will improve if you participate and ask questions at meetings.
Our next meeting is Learn to Homebrew at Barley Johns.  You can find details at www.mnbrewer.com.  Come check it out, you don't have to be a member to attend one meeting.
