Trying to Enter Doppelbock in NHC
« on: February 10, 2016, 06:37:54 am »
I'm trying to enter a Doppelbock in the software for my NHC entries, but it is asking for addition information (2015 Cat 5C - 2008 Category 9A).  It is asking for special ingredients or whether it's based on a classic style.  Yeah...Doppelbock.

I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.  The Marzen I entered didn't have this requirement and I'm guessing that would be a classic style too.

Is this a glitch, or should I just enter "Doppelbock" in the software?

Also, like other competitions that use this software, can the entries be edited after they are paid for?

Thanks and good luck to you all.

P.S. Doppelbock is spelled "Dopplebock" in the software...no big deal

Please disregard...I just re-read the guidelines and see that I need to specify whether it is a dark or pale variant.  Never had to do this before so I'm guessing the new guidelines differentiate between the two now.

Yeah, the rules state specifically which additional information is required for each style that requires additional information, but they're not on the same site.  For Doppelbock, as you discovered, only light or dark is required.

That is interesting. Can't imagine there would be too many pale doppelbocks submitted.

I am not sure I have ever had one. Looking at the Traunstein page, they have one.

Would like to try their beers someday based on the awards they win, and they are not far from Brauerie Schoenram, another award winner.
