Every send your beer to a lab?

Just curious.  If you have sent beer to a lab, or think you might, for what test(s)?

Many times.  I use Analysis Lab in Lebanon OR run by Scott Bruslind.  He's also agreed to do some testing for the podcast.  I have just tested for "normal" stuff....IBU, ABV, color, etc.

No testing, no competitions entered, just happy in my own "ignorant" bliss. Though if I ever do find a beer that is just completely out of whack, I could see sending it in, but in the end, probably just take it to a club meeting for group think on the subject

I did once for IBU testing on an all-whirlpool hopped IPA. I used Coastal Science Labs (now Sweetwater Science Labs), because the price can't be beat - $5 for an a la carte IBU test. It costs more to ship the sample.

Here's the link to their order page in case anyone's interested:

I might try them again sometime to test whirlpools at various temperatures to confirm whether there is a significant pickup of IBU's as temp drops.

I was about to click no and don't plan to, but that was because I assumed it was hundreds of dollars to have any testing.  Thanks for a source of completely reasonable priced tests!

Won a comp a couple years back where part of the prize was to get your beer analyzed by Saranac brewery. I sent in a belgian dubbel and was pretty intrigued to see that my measurements at home were pretty darn close to the lab measurements provided to me.
