I'm a little confused by the fact that there are 17 hotels listed under the "official conference hotels" heading. 

Is one of them THE conference hotel? 

I can see from the provided map which ones are closest to the conference venue, but you cannot stay at the actual venue itself (it is not a hotel).

Edit: Well, whatever.  I just booked at a room at the closest hotel.

I'm staying at the Hilton becasue it's connected to the conference center.  The Marriott is right across the street I'm told.

It is sort of like Grand Rapids, Convention Center and surrounding hotels. Staying at the Renaissance.

That's pretty much the thing.  It's been a while since I've been to Baltimore, but from what I recall, go by distance and get something close.  We picked the Marriott since we have their points membership.  It's very similar to the Grand Rapids scenario where one might be connected, but some of the others are just as close to the actual conference location.

I'll admit that though I have a bone to pick with the Hilton, it's the most likely option for my wife and I.

Still, I'll never forgive them for blocking the view of the Bromo-Seltzer tower from Camden Yards.

That brick building in right field is really ruining the modern skyline. It should be razed for sure.
