I'm torn on crap like this where I gotta go look up stuff to keep up with the converstaion. I learned something new, like to not split inifnitives. But I'm uncertain as to how it will improve my life. Also, now that the filter is recognized, will there be a f##king Flood of f##ks now?

Edit: it also de-capitalized the word.

English grammer teachers halt the natural evolution of the english language (IMO).  If we (and our parents and grandparents) had paid attention, we would still be speaking Victorian English.

To badly speak, or to horribly write, that is the question...

I don't much care for the evolution of the language. There's nothing eloquent about WTF.

Oh, I never claimed that it was a good thing... However, I do believe that there is a major difference between the evolution of language and internet abbreviations.

If I knew how to phonetically spell a 'raspberry' I would put it here.  ;)

Thank you - I'll add that to my spellchecker now!

I'm gonna have to read this thread from the beginning again.  How in hell did it get here?  Its been entertaining though.

Somewhere along the way, somebody's participle was dangling - or something like that.  ;)

The written language in common usage today is inelegant and clumsy compared to even a few short years ago. Have you noticed how many misunderstandings there are on Internet forums as a result of a lack of cogent writing ability, reading comprehension, or both? I've seen pages worth of questions and explanations to clarify a point that should have taken a sentence or two at best.

Even conversationally I find it difficult to extract meaning from the clouds of muddled thinking. I swear it seems like most people have just become intellectually lazy over the past ten years or so.

IDK, WTF is more of a TLA to me; as is in use in business even with the likes of  SLA's and RTO's.
We're getting lazier day by day. Acronyms are becoming accepted as words. Lenno has a WTF moments sketch now.

So sad...
