You're on your way...

For now, I'm just sticking with infusions for my step mashes. I might not get as much "it" as I want, but if I can even get a little, I'll be happy!

I haven't really considered using it yet. In fact, I'm sticking with single infusions for the time being. If I pursue step mashes in the future it's going to be through direct firing a kettle mash tun.

So decided to construct new device for steam infusion. Going into my copper manifold seemed to work better when I lifted it slightly off bottom with the stir stick. Might be because those slots are on bottom and against bottom of cooler.
So since I'm stirring anyway, constructed copper stir stick with holes drilled all around it to disperse steam throughout mash as I stir. will attach it to my paddle.  Will we see how it goes next time around.

Steam stick was success. I was able to raise temp from 140f to 162f in 15.5 minutes. So 1.42f per minute.

It is- I replaced it with that blue food grade high temp tubing.

I think its a cool innovation for batch spargers. I also like affordable pieces of equpment that are multiple use. You'll find a half dozen uses for the steamer now that you have it.

right. steam cleaning my tile next!

wonder why if has not caught on, and why commercial brewers don't do it?
I would say it is a safety issue.

Awesome! I'd like to figure something similar out for my setup.
