need help choosing a pump
« on: April 05, 2016, 08:31:04 am »
i'm in need of some help choosing a pump for the glycol chiller unit for my cct's that i'm building. i would control it via a brewpi.
i not sure what type of pump i need buy. do i go for the cheap Chinese solar 24v pump or would i go with the iwaki magnetic driven pumps.
because i was thinking of circulating the glycol the whole time and i'm not sure if these pumps can handle running all the time. or would it be better te only let them run the glycol when te fermenter gets to hot or cold ?
life in the fast lane!

If you plan to control the glycol flow with actuator valve, go with the magnetic drive. If you plan to turn the pump on and off, the cheap 24V pump would be a good choice and buy a spare.  As the cooling demand changes during fermentation, you will need to control the coolant flow.
