Arizona Beer

All,

I'm spending a week in Sedona in June but flying in and out of Phoenix. What are the best local beer places to hit while I am there?

I love Sedona, but not really for beer. The brewpub in Tlaquepaque, Oak Creek, was ok. Other than that there is nothing else brewery wise there.

In Scottsdale I always try to go to Papago, but often I am drawn to the guest taps.

Perhaps someone else has a newer perspective to the brewing scene in Sedona and Phoenix.

It's not a popularity contest, it's beer!

Sedona and craft beer? Not so much. There was a pizza place that had some taps, pizza was not my style. There are a few breweries in Flagstaff, Historic gets good recommendations. Remember that you are at 7000 ft elevation, and moderation is a good thing.

I used to like Four Peaks in Tempe when I would go out there for work trips, but ABInbev owns them now. Those trips were a long time ago. Papago has a good selection and vibe.

Many like AZ Wilderness in the valley, but I have never been.
