Bell's HopSlam?
« on: June 03, 2010, 07:34:02 am »
I haven't had one this year since they first released them a couple or few months ago, anybody had this beer lately?  When I bought mine they were Great, smooth and had huge citrus flavor and aroma.   I'm curious to how they might have aged any further?

Hopslam is much like Pliney,
Drink it fresh,  it is still good aged but drops down to the ordinary category,  fresh is OUTSTANDING

agreed, though Pliny is in a world all its own.

once it ages, Hopslam becomes meh...

Pliny>Maharajah>Ruination>Hopslam

I recently bought another Maharajah, and when I got home I realized it was still Batch 9 and was put out on the shelf a full year ago.

Wow was it different, I would have swore it was a barleywine.

This year's Hopslam is not as good as in the past few years.  I'd give it a 8.5/10 in the bottle, 9/10 if on tap.
