Baseball 2016
« on: June 27, 2016, 09:47:41 pm »
I think we need a full on Baseball thread for this year. I just got back to my hotel here in Cincinnati having just watched my Cubs beat the Reds. It was nice to get a win. Been having a bad stretch here. Beautiful stadium here by the way. Kris Bryant had an epic game. 5-5 with 3hrs, and 2 doubles. This is a fun team to watch.

Giants are working their usual killing it in the even years.

They swept the Tigers again. The Tigers have lost all the games with Cleveland this year.

The Reds are having an awful year.  I know we are rebuilding, but some of our veteran players aren't doing well and don't get me started on our pitching.  Going to the game tonight against the Cubs.  Will see how that goes.

If the Red Sox don't get some pitching soon, I'm going to have to start pulling for the Cubs.  Anyone's team got a bag of balls they want to trade for Buchholz?

I'm just hoping Price has a second half like last year.

And they almost blew it for Arrieta. All the Cubs pitching staff seems to be slumping right now, but last night the hitting came through. Hopefully the All Star break will get them back to winning most of their series instead of getting swept by the Cards and losing 2 of 3 to teams like the Marlins! Can't be doing that sh*t...

Go Cubs!

Arrieta is a headcase and he's going to implode in the post season.

/Or, I can at least tell myself that to feel better.

I keep telling myself that if the O's had kept him he'd never be this good, but I don't feel better either...

Also, I'm not really too surprised by the Red Sox starting pitching.  The Orioles can't develop starters but somehow the Sox thought they got the second coming of Cy Young from us in E-Rod?

As a Cubs fan, I sure hope not. Hoping he can right the ship.

And Jesse, Bryant was just unbelievable in that game - first ever to 3 homers and 2 doubles in a game. I just wish Schwarber was out there mashing with him.

Yeah, that was really something! Where was that when they were playing the Cards! Gotta beat the teams that matter, Cubs...

Now last night's Cubs game was more like it. How about that grand slam in the 15th??? Amazing... and it's funny when they play different players in positions you're not used to seeing them in...they had pitchers in the outfield after the position players were done. That's always fun.

There's nothing better than a position player pitching... and doing well.  Like when Chris Davis struck out Adrian Gonzalez a few years ago, and got the win.
