There's nothing better than a position player pitching... and doing well.  Like when Chris Davis struck out Adrian Gonzalez a few years ago, and got the win.
That's always so fun when that happens. The game has to go like 18 innings for something like that though.

The Reds pitcher set a franchise record of giving up 6 grand slams in his career with that one last night. Talk radio has been slamming him all day here in Cincy area

Fermenting: Nothing (ugh!)
Conditioning: Nothing (UGH!)
In keg: Nothing (Double UGH!)
In the works:  House IPA, Dark Mild, Ballantine Ale clone(still trying to work this one into the schedule)

And in reality, it was unintentional, but fits great!

I am so frustrated right now with the Cubs (big surprise, right?). But seriously, the starting pitching is just in a slump right now. Even Arrieta is giving up runs left and right...the way they're struggling against the Mets right now is just f*cked...I mean seriously, a team of the Cubs caliber shouldn't be struggling like this. It's just weird...that's baseball...
Just need to vent.

And, the Indians had a position player pitching last night and they won... after 19 innings.

Edit: the Blue Jays had the infielders pitching.  So it didn't work out so well for them.

Yeah, the pitchers are definitely slumping now. I hope they can pull themselves out of this funk soon. Joe is a great manager though - I think he'll have them peaking at the right time. I'm pretty confident there are deals to come before the trade deadline though.

Yeah, tonight's loss was painful as well. But what can ya do? Not going to work myself up too much over it. Just frustrating. Still a nice lead over the Cards, which is all that matters right now.

That nice lead is slowly dwindling down..... Remember it's an even year Giants are going to win it. Being a Cardinals fan I'm  hoping we at least get in a wildcard spot.

Would love to see the Cubs win it. The Indians would be my second choice.

I'm a long suffering Cubs fan. It's a strange position to be the favorite going into the playoffs, and that's the scary part. Hopefully that's the last extra inning game that gets away this postseason. :)

With the O's and Red Sox out, I'm in a conundrum.

There are three teams I hate: The Yankees, Blue Jays, and Royals. Clearly I cannot root for Toronto, and I'm still sore at Cleveland for '97.

Won't root for the Nats, I've never rooted for any DC team, and never will.

Guess that leaves the Cubs and the Giants.
