In case you don't remember, the 2015 BrewUnited Challenge was a huge success; when all was said and done, we gave away nearly $4700 worth of prizes. This year, we have half again as many sponsors as we did by the same date last year, so I'm super optimistic that it's going to be an even bigger deal.

This year, we're going with a "beers of the world theme" with our Divisions based on American, Commonwealth, and Continental beers. We are also adding a "for fun" SMaSH beer category.

Homebrew Heroes are back - brew three medal worthy beers, and get recognized for your serious skill with a prize package that includes an actual superhero cape (link to last year's winners).

Remember, last year, we filled up in less than a month. While the judging itself won't happen until mid October, you very likely will want to sign up sooner rather than later!

A week in, we're almost 50% full - the American Division and the SMaSH category are both more than 50% full. 

Sponsor-wise, we're doing great - we're at about $4200 worth of prizes already; I expect us to easily smash last year's total.  The grand prize package now include a 7 Gallon Chronical fermentor from SS Brew Tech (ARV: $395) and a loaded 10 gallon Spike Brewing kettle from HomeBrewSupply (ARV: $244).

This stuff has gotten absolutely bananas. As of this posting, we're at $6900 in total prizes. $6900.

Grand prize takes home $859 worth of swag. Three Divisions winners get $651 worth. Three second place winners get $254 worth. Three third place winners get $164 worth.

Our "for fun" SMaSH category winner gets freaking $301 worth of prizes. Our HomeBrew Heroes take home $213 worth of loot.

This doesn't even cover all of the prizes. There will be tons of prizes that are randomly drawn and given away. And every participant gets a copy of the Brew.io app.

We are more than half full already... the SMaSH category is down to fewer than ten spots. If you are thinking about entering, don't delay much longer!
