Yes, Cascade makes great sours here in the US! Strong in the lactobacillus dept.

Then there must be something fundamentally wrong with me :( I started the day at noon with a glass of Hunahpu, which was very nice indeed. Then the remainder of the day I drank nothing to my liking except for De Molen 30 grams IPA, which does indeed contain 30 grams per liter, and Narke Kaggen Stormaktsporter with raspberry. I could not even enjoy the Cascade sour ales, although I'm a sourhead. My friends found them awesome :(

Was your pallete already trashed?  I too find it hard to switch to sours after a good amount of drinking.

It's a complete mystery. Surely it can't have been the Austrian Kellerbier without "it", the Italian watermelon rind Berliner Weisse, the sahti, another Kellerbier without "it", or a Swedish vanilla cider. I ditched them all after a few sips...

I will say that American sours can be more tannic since they use relatively new barrels. Not like Oud Beersel or Cantillon.

I think my palate gets an overdose quite easily, especially after a series of extreme beers/ciders. At some point it seems to give up and finds nothing very pleasant anymore. My friends don't seem to have that problem even if they drink much more than me. Or maybe at some point they find anything pleasant...

Curious are those a flight of different NEIPAS? Or 4 glasses of the same beer?

Good job.  I shrunk it so you'd have to squint.

Those are 4 different IPAs/double IPAs.

Narvin, what was your take on the beers and the style?

This goes against everything I believe in, but
.. these beers are excellent  :)

Seriously though, I don't get gritty or yeasty at all.  They are cloudy but very clean with maybe the tiniest hint of rustic graininess.  A true American farmhouse IPA.  The hops have enough bitterness to stand up to the flavor.  Very nice.
