STC-1000 12V power supply question
« on: August 22, 2016, 11:37:22 pm »
I ordered an STC-1000 to use as a fermentation controller, but rather stupidly ordered a 12V unit rather than a 240V unit. I would like to confirm that I can use this 1A power supply (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1Pcs-Aluminum-led-strip-power-Adapter-AC-110V-220V-240V-to-DC-12V-1A-2A-3A/32680660032.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.299.MMoS4X&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_0,searchweb201602_4_10057_10056_10055_10054_10059_10058_10017_107_10060_10061_10052_414_10062_10053_413_10050_10051,searchweb201603_4&btsid=d4a918c4-8524-4717-802d-e8f6ec874315) in this configuration:

to power it? I'll be inputting 240V mains (I'm in New Zealand), and using the same mains to power the heating/cooling devices. I have read that the STC units will power up with DC, can anyone confirm??

Or are there other suggestions about how to configure this?

Thanks in advance,

Aidan

ETA: another option for power supply would be this: http://www.ledstuff.co.nz/product_info.php?products_id=139
