I like nitro beers.  And nitro IPA's are some of my favorites, which to date, I have only had at breweries or when I homebrew a beer.  I recently picked up a keg of Avery IPA and I want to serve it on my nitro kegerator.  I set it all up and all I get is foam.  I've messed with the psi and tried it around 15 and 30 psi with the same result:  foam.  I've tried to bleed the keg and still get foam.  I have a small kegerator with less than 4 feet of line and have read in other forums that you need more line for some reason to get rid of the foam - is there any truth to this?  I am using a nitro tap with a normal restrictor disc meant for nitro beers.  Could this be the problem?  Do I need to pour this on a regular tap to eliminate the foam?  The beer in the line is clear and not foamy if that makes a difference. 

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

If the beer is moving too fast, couldn't I lower the psi on the regulator to slow it down?  Or is the only solution to add more line?  If so, how much line?

The idea is that you want the resistance of the line to match the pressure you're serving at so the beer comes out of the tap with just above zero pressure.  If you reduce the psi on the regulator the beer will lose carbonation.

Yes and no. Yes it will help, but you still need more line to hold the pressure in solution. Lowering the pressure too far will also cause the beer to go flat.

Are you using a nitro faucet? If so you could remove the restriction plate.
