Kegerator build
« on: October 24, 2016, 02:54:32 pm »
Hi all,

I have an old fridge that is great for my 5 gallon corny keg, 5 lb CO2 tank and regulator. The only problem is it's a little too big for my wife's liking. I had an idea to disassemble the fridge and build something to better suit the space we have. I was thinking about building a box, insulating it and running the cooling system in the new box. Has anyone done anything like this?

I have an IPA to keg in a few weeks and would like to get it done before then :)

Tell your wife that you are going to use the fridge for now (just temporary) while you study smaller more aesthetic options...maybe she will get used to it and leave you alone about it.

I ran across this when I was building my fermentation chamber.

Risk of failure should be no deterrent to trying.

The fridge is quite large but because of the layout inside it makes it difficult to even fit everything inside. I was just thinking if I could change the layout I could make it a little smaller and also easier for me.

For now I will delay, eventually we will have more space where I can convert a chest freezer hopefully.
