Newer Hop varietal - Saaz Kicked up to 11 from bsg  I got an oz free at a bottle share, trying to decide Hoppy Pils or spicy Steam beer.  Either way I think it will surprise me.  We will see.  Anyone tried this yet?

I am really hoping this hop is not the reason for medicinal flavors in his saison.  Cause if it is, then I don't think I want anything to do with this hop.  I am going to xbmt on only a gallon so we will see what to make of it after awhile....

I love this hop and have been using it in place of Sterling as my primary noble-ish hop. It has the usual Saaz-like spice, but with a nice lemon zest character in the background. Even at low hopping levels in a Cream Ale I can still pick out the subtle citrus. I have an IPL about ready to keg that used Caliente, Vic Secret and Kazbek. I am very much looking forward to seeing how that turns out. I think it would be killer in a dry-hopped Pivo Pils style brew.
