Will thawed star san solution be effective?
« on: December 22, 2016, 08:58:35 am »
During this past cold snap, the temperature inside a fridge in my garage read 28 F on a cheap thermometer.

I had a bucket of star san on the garage floor that presumably froze during that time period. Should I throw it out and mix new or will it work if the acidity is still relatively low?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Thaw it out and give it a stir.  The pH should still be the same.

I don't see why temperature would have an effect on the acid. I'm not sure if it would affect the surfectant though.

Thaw it and verify that the pH is 3 or less and, if it still foams up, you should be good to go.

I would give it a solid swirl to make sure it is well mixed, but otherwise I'd bet it's fine
