I don't think there is a satisfactory substitute for brown malt, but the recipe looks good to me.  I'd use the brown malty or balanced profiles in Bru'n Water.

+1.  Browns help make a great porter.

I would go a step further and say you can't make a great porter without brown malt. Just my opinion.

Brown malt seems to be in most every porter recipe ive been lookin at. There are quite a few using munich instead. But i will go with the brow malt. I have to order it though.😐

What's a good amount of brown malt for a porter?

These days I would likely use a Munich base for a porter out of personal preference.
On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale

Thanks. That's about what I was thinking.

Last one I made, I used about 5%, but you could easily go higher IMO.

I'm at work so I can't check my notes, but the recipe I've used is 10-13% brown malt. I've always used a British maltster, FWIW.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.
