Brewing with Kveik Yeast
« on: April 22, 2017, 10:54:55 am »
Has anybody experimented with this Nordic Farmhouse yeast? I currently have a 2gal partial mash experiment fermenting.
1lb light DME
2lbs Dark Bohemian Floor Malt
.5oz Hallertau (40mins)
.5oz Hallertau  (20mins)
.5oz Juniper Berries (15mins)
Voss Kveik Yeast

This is my first "original recipe"
Looking for insight, comments and recommendations, if any.

Tasted today's hydro sample.. malt profile is good, with banana and Orange like esters, a hint of farmhouse funk and bit of juniper. Very pleased thus far.

Bottled farmhouse ale after 5 days in fermenter. Had a glass non carbonated (a traditional way to serve) as I bottled. Great flavor. Can't wait to try it carbonated.
