[Lazy Ant Brewing]

Is there some generally accepted guideline for how long to keep a brew at cold crash temps i.e. about 32 or 33 F?

I have a stout fermenting with US05, with a OG of 1.058 and FG of 1.015.

Depends on what I am trying to accomplish. If I am trying to get haze to set before adding gelatin and kegging, 1 day. If I am trying to drop as much yeast as possible ahead of kegging, 3 days.

With a stout I don't think it is entirely necessary. I cold crash ales for 1-2 days, add gelatin and hold cold for 1-2 days for clarity. I don't concern myself with clarity too much above 25 SRM.

This was my thought, I really only do it with beer that I want to be nice and bright, even then 24 hours plus a cold crash in the keg works for me. If crashing in primary maybe two days before I would rack.
