Thinking about songs you used to like or songs from bands you still like that you could go forever and a wek without hearing. Here are some from me. Not in any particular order

American Pie
Hotel California
Pour Some Sugar on Me (literally would rather pour molten hot lead in my ears)
Bohemian Rhapsody
Reelin' in the Years
Stairway to Heaven
Any Aerosmith song ......

That Paul McCartney Christmas song (I don't know the name) makes me want to set fire to the earth.

ANY:

Eagles (most overrated band in the history of the planet)
Steve Miller
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Bob Seger
REO

In short, the classic rock that you liked that they pummeled you over the head with for decades.

Also, bands that started out great and devolved into sissy ballad bands (see Aerosmith, Def Leppard, etc.)

Lastly, any hair metal band that I may or may not have embarrassingly liked in the 80's.

Hall and Oates...mostly Darryl Hall. I think that dude is a tool. I watch Darryl's House every once in a while if it is featuring an artist that I am interested in. It's an interesting love/hate thing

I have a nickname for all the crappy classic bands that I hate hearing now (not limited to the bands in the name):

'REOStyxJourneyWagon' - it's a style of overrated, sh#%%y music.

Ha...my friend in High School used to say something similar to that to me since I listened to all of them.

Bohemian Rhapsody

You at least have to listen to this one after it's been run through Google Translate.  Search it out on Youtube...funny as hell!

I should not have posted this. I can now not ever have some respect fro some of you. Boston? Really? One of my faves to blast on my turn table. And "Born to Run" is one of the best albums ever made. Period.

And the Eagles over rated? OMG ... I would have punched you in the nose had we been drinking together. ;)

Keith, they're like vanilla ice cream, except the generic store stuff, not the vanilla bean. :)   And I can bob and weave defensive style with the best of them.  ;D  Seriously, to each his own. I'm sure I like stuff you'd hate.

I agree with a lot of the ones already listed. but from back in my high school days, I can still listen to and enjoy almost anything from the following (just trying to draw a line on cheesy 80s stuff and good old rock and roll/classic rock)
Van Halen, cant say the same for Van Hagar (all seems cheesy to me now)
Led Zeppelin
ZZ Top
Early AC/DC
Early Metallica (think up to and including "And Justice" its all crap to me after that album)
The Who
Aerosmith up until probably mid 80s, think "Done With Mirrors" as the end, but some fun stuff on Perm Vaca
I still like Skynyrd
Def Leppard until the arm incident: first three albums still can rock the house

And now the bad:
Agreed 100% on almost all the hair bands I listened to, mainly Poison, Warrant, Cinderella. For fun I showed the kids Twisted Sister's "I wanna rock" last night to compare with the pledge pin scene from animal house. How did anyone, including me, think those guys were cool? take a minute and watch the video or at least the first minute or so until the band actually appears. Dee is a pretty cool cat nowadays though. Love the commercial where one of his songs is playing and he says "I used to like that song," even he knows how bad hair metal really was
Eagles, loved them back then, total channel changer nowadays
Reo, never really a fan
Journey was painful every time I heard them, nothing has changed
Boston, totally agree

I know the thread was about specific songs, but anything by the bands in the second half of my list counts as a song I no longer want to hear. Thanks for posting Keith, guess I needed to get that off my chest or at least out of my ears
