Looking For Beta Testers For A Brew Day App
« on: January 25, 2017, 07:23:43 pm »
The idea for this app: A simple way to set up notifications on your iPhone to alert you when to add hops, spices, or whatever you plan to throw into your beer while you're boiling the wort.

The people behind it:  I'm a homebrewer with grand aspirations of running my own brewery, and the one who came up with the idea for this app.  My mother is a retired software programmer who began her career in the early 80s and was looking for some projects to take on in her retirement.

She is doing the programming and so far I have been the QA tester.  We are looking for a handful of people who are willing to test the app and give us feedback regarding functionality, ease of use, how it looks, etc.  Anyone who is selected and provides feedback will get a free download of the release version of the app.

For now this is only an iPhone app.  If you would like to be a tester, send me a message... either here or at trubgerg@gmail.com .  You'll get an invite to download the current version of the app.

The working version is called Brewing Timer.

Does the app take into account the effects of wind?

The app is just an easy way to setup alerts for adding ingredients during the boil.  If you wanted to add wind as an ingredient, you could do that, but the app is not designed to account for any environmental factors that could affect your brew day.

I would happily test but do not use Apple devices.  If you ever develop a version for android then I'm game, and would be happy to provide feedback.

At this point it is for Apple devices only.  We've already talked about Android devices, but we're not there just yet.
