Hey everyone, I am new to the forum but I have been brewing for about 3 years. I am no pro. I usually only do 2-4 batches. Year tops. I always do partial grain. Someday I will do all grain.
That said, I was given some cocoa nibs by a friend and he asked me to make something tasty. I am making it for an event in July so it will likely be warm. I came across something called white stouts and it seemed like a good alternative to stouts and porters.
I came across this recipe and it looks good:

NOTE: I am doing a 5gallon batch. The link lists ingredients for 10 gallons. Below I converted it to 5 gallons.
Fermentables
- 10 lb United Kingdom – Maris Otter Pale
- 1.5 lb Flaked Oats
- 1 lb American – Caramel / Crystal 20L
- 1 lb Flaked Barley
- 1 lb American – Smoked Malt
Hops
- 0.625 oz Columbus, Pellet, Boil 60 min
- 0.25 oz Kent Goldings, Pellet, Boil 30 min
- 0.25 oz Kent Goldings, Pellet Boil 10 min
Other
- 8oz whole coffee beans last 48hrs
- 3oz cocoa nibs secondary fermentation
Yeast
- Wyeast 1187 – Ringwood Ale Yeast
