Never a shortage
« on: February 21, 2017, 01:10:24 pm »
Not sure if this should be here or elsewhere... if wrong, please inform me or move. It seems every time I spend some time in the basement at my office working on something, I find a cool old piece of breweriana(think that's the word.) Found this old Burger brewing metal (tin?) Advertising sign/serving plate just hanging out down there.

It's about 18x24 or so and dusty, but still a nice find.

A nice find for sure.  Burger Brewing was sold to Hudepohl Brewing in 1973.  So the age of that tin is probably 45+ years!

What's interesting is the sale includes "brands" and "recipes", some of the most valuable assets of a brewing company!

Yes, I believe the recipes and production are now in the possession of Christian Moerlein Brewing. They bought up the rights to a ton of older recipes and brands. Think they have around 42 labels but are only producing around 15

I missed that!  I like how the dog is eagerly watching and waiting for a fish to bite.

For those of you who know him, I got a neat response when I posted this pic on FB. The first comment was "Did Dan Listermann's model for the picture?"
