Avoiding sanitation issues in equipment

Here is a paper relevant to sanitary design if you are building or buying homebrewing equipment.  It is an interesting point that 20% of craft beer was found to be infected with spoilage organisms.  It also gives information on weld types and fittings types for brewing that is backed up by sanitary standards.  It is in PDF format.
