I ordered this at my local Uno's after seeing the name, but not knowing anything about the beer. The first taste left me a bit disappointed, as I was hoping for something resembling a traditional helles. But then the hops kicked in on the finish and I fell in love with the beer. Think blonde ale with a big kick of Mandarina Bavaria on the finish, rather than a Helles with orange petals. I got a nice citrus character, but to me it was primarily hops rather than floral.

I'm not always a fan of Sam's seasonal offerings, but I will be drinking this all spring as I see it on tap.

I find Sam's offerings to be very hit & miss -- either very good, or very meh.

Good to know before I buy that it's pretty non-traditional. But it sounds good with the mindset of drinking a Mandarina blonde. I'll probably pick some up.

I really find it to be a strong orange blossom rather than mandarina hops... I do have to say they are great BBQ brew in a can.

With that being said I do enjoy the beer.  I have gone through 36 in the past month or so.

I also enjoy their hopscape wheat

I experienced it more as a malty helles taste than a blonde and barely detected just a touch of the orange blossom.  I really enjoyed it.

We had it last month in Disneyworld, while we were in Epcot, not on the world showcase, but while we were walking around from the Land to the Sea if I recall correctly. Dont remember much about the brew, but it was cold and refreshing after walking around the park in 85° weather. I would buy it again here at home if or when I see it.

That whole Brewnited pack was good. I think that was one of the better mix packs in a while.

I definitely got orange flavors in the Fresh as Helles.

I had that at a recent trip to Vegas. Much like you, it took me by surprise with the first drink. I was expecting some subtle and light. Ended liking it for what it is.

I never get any of the typical malt character of European lagers from Sam's lagers, and that's why I think I compare them more to ale styles usually.
