Wondering after sterilization if the Star San should be rinsed out with distilled or not?   I'm using this product for the first time and my carboy has suds on the inside.

No need to rinse. Rack onto the bubbles, any residual turns to a food for the yeast.

Nope.  Rack on the foam.  Its safe and tasteless.  Won't hurt your beer at all.  We all have been doing it this way for years.

1 oz Star San per 5 gallons of water. Don't fear the foam.

That seems a bit light, but close.  The recommendtion for an oz. per five gal. works put to a bit over a tsp. per gal.  Also, keep in mind that we sanitize, not sterilize.

I use 6ml per gallon, so I'd agree that it's a little light.  I think a tsp is 5ml.

I typically mix my starsan 1 gallon at a time by dropping 1 1/4 tsp of starsan in a gallon jug of distilled.

I use a rounded tsp per gallon and call it good.
