Passionfruit Concentrate
« on: May 11, 2017, 06:51:48 am »
Hey all - we just brewed an all grain hefeweizen and moved it from the primary to secondary last night. We added passionfruit concentrate, and are worried that we added too much! The batch ended up being about 4 gallons, and we added 25 oz of concentrate. The only thing I can think of to do if we really effed up is to add water, which would lower the FG. SO, 1 - did we add to much and 2 - if we did, how can we tone it down a bit? Thanks much!

How's it taste? You can brew more beer to blend with.

I only tried a little of the concentrate poured into a glass of uncarbonated beer. I haven't tasted what is in the carboy. I suppose I could bust out my wine thief and see what it tastes like now that it's blended together. I am brewing an Imperial IPA this weekend, so maybe I could add some of that if there's too much passionfruit?

I would add more of the same beer, but it might work

Would it be absolutely ridiculous to add some commercial Hefe?

IMO, yes. Too difficult without introducing O2.

Taste and go from there. It might be ok.
