Shipping Tips - what kind of box?
« on: May 12, 2017, 12:39:52 pm »
I have never actually shipped beer before, and need to get some safely to Minnesota.  I have read all of the tips and FAQs and I get the idea about the plastic bag liner, bubble wrap, etc., but I was wondering if anyone has any brilliant suggestions about what to use for the box itself?  The shipping info recommends a "beer of the month club" style box, but I don't have one of those (or even really know what one looks like).  I'm sure I can manage, but thought I would throw it out there in case somebody has some rad pro tips I hadn't thought of.  Thanks.

I usually get the simple cardboard box that you can get at places like Home Depot.  I get the heavy duty strength and it is only a few cents more.  I have shipped to regional and nation events over the years without any damage, so it works for me.  Good luck in the finals!

Any decent box should work fine, but I really like these as no bubble wrap is required.
