European tour

Leaving for Florence, Venice tomorrow. Then on to Malaga, Granada and Barcelona.

Anyone know of any breweries in those cities that are worth stopping in for?

I don't think any of those are big brewing towns. Most of the brewing in Italy seems to be in the northwest part of the country. Still, I'd imagine in Venice and Florence you could find a lot of the Italian craft beer along with plenty of imports from eastern Europe and Germany. Spain is gearing up its own craft beer scene. You should find some smaller craft breweries on your Spanish stops but nothing really well known. More your typical local craft breweries.

The last time I was in Italy was 10+ years ago, so I ended up drinking wine. Today I think I could find some good beer somewhere in the towns like Florence and Venice. Nothing definite to add, but things have changed.

Here is something I just found on a search. Florence is represented.

Just landed in Barcelona. Give it to me, your can't miss brewery.

Found a good brewery in Florence called archea.  They don't actually brew on sight for obvious reasons.  It was pretty good so I got a shirt.
