Inside of Mr. Beer barrel has scrapes, should I use it?

I'm a small batch brewer (1-2 gallons) and I bought a Mr. Beer barrel fermenter to use as a bottling bucket. They ship the can of extract inside of the barrel and it looks like the can scraped the inside of the barrel as it rolled around in there. No gouges that I can see, however. Do you all think it's safe to use as a bottling bucket (provided that I sanitize well, obviously) even with the scrapes? I'm worried about the stories I've heard about scratched plastic harboring bacteria.

If you can see and get pictures of the scrapes and then send the Mr. Beer folks an e-mail describing the issue, attaching the picture and requesting a replacement, they will probably send you another MBK.
