No stir plate lager starter
« on: June 01, 2017, 06:59:21 am »
Has anyone had success doing a lager with a shaken not stirred starter? If so what was you process? I do 1 qt starter in a gallon glass jug for my ales. All the lagers I'll be doing are right around 1.050.

1L starter in a 1 gal jug, then let it rock for 10 hours in a cool spot. (lowish 60's.)
Corn is a fine adjunct in beer.

And don't buy stale beer.

Done it. Works well enough. Had visible fermentation in about 16 hours.
