Foodsaver (Tilia) jar sealer how?
« on: November 14, 2009, 08:31:55 am »
I picked up another foodsaver, this one with the vacuum hole. I have an older jar sealer but I can't figure out how to make it work (or if it works at all). Do I just put the lid on the jar, shove the sealer over the top and start the pump? I did that< and it's not working. Any suggestions or tips?
Thanks,
Mike

Does the food safer jar's lid have a small hole for the tube to go into?  Those are the only sealing jars I am familiar with and then you just put the tube into the hole and turn on the vacuum sealer.

Get the top (red  ring) of the mason/ball jar HOT so its a bit pliable

Got to hold down the top a little too
