Maris Otter in a Belgian Pale Ale/IPA?
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:04:56 pm »
Here's roughly the recipe I'm thinking about:

6lbs – UK 2-Row (Pearl)
6lbs – US 2-Row
1lbs – Crystal 20L
8oz – Munich
8oz – Vienna

For a 5 gallon batch.  My question is would subbing out the 6lbs of Pearl for Maris Otter create a problem.  I have MO on hand and would like to use it in this beer if I could?

I don't think it will make a huge difference. The main flavors will come from the hops and Belgian yeast character.

Yeah, I don't think you'll be able to taste very much difference at all.
