How do I set up email notifications for the AHA Forum?

The AHA Forum software allows you to set up email notifications when posts are made to Boards (Boards are represented by envelopes on the main page of the forum, e.g. “General Homebrew Discussion”, “All Grain Brewing”, “Extract/Partial Mash Brewing”) or Topics (Topics are the threads within each Board). 

You must be a registered user to set up notifications.  See www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/index.php?topic=3025.0 for instructions on how to register.

Board Notifications
To receive a notification every time a new topic is posted to a specific Board, open that Board from the AHA Forum main page, then click “notify” from the links on the right side of the page just above the list of topics.  Once you have clicked “notify”, you will receive an email notification to the email address you used for your AHA Forum/HomebrewersAssociation.org registration every time a new Topic is posted to that Board.  NOTE: notifications for Boards only notify you when new Topics are posted to a Board, they do not notify you if a new post is made to an existing Topic within that Board.

Topic Notifications
To receive a notification every time a new post is made within a specific Topic, open that Topic from the Board page that Topic appears in, then click “notify” from the links on the right side of the page just above the list of posts.  Once you have clicked “notify”, you will receive an email notification to the email address you used for your AHA Forum/HomebrewersAssociation.org registration every time a new Topic is posted to that Board. 

Editing Your Notifications Settings
The AHA Forum allows you to customize the notifications you receive.  You can choose from these options:
•   Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email.
•   Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply.
•   Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.
•   When sending notification of a reply to a topic, send the post in the email (but please don't reply to these emails.)

You can also see and edit which Boards and Topics you are following.

To edit your notification settings, click on “PROFILE” from the links menu below the header at the top of every page in the AHA Forum.  Then select “Notifications and Email” from the “Modify Profile” menu on the left side of the page.
