5 gallon Igloo mash tun grew fuzzies.
« on: October 31, 2017, 03:15:13 pm »
Hi gang,
My 5g Igloo mash tun grew some fuzzies - obviously it was not cleaned well enough. . They were the standard teal green and all white molds. There were only a few. There is no stain nor any smell after I washed the tun out and cleaned it with PBW.
Will a standard Star-San soak/bath kill everything I might need to worry about? Or do I need to go more severe such as a bleach and water soak?

Thanks,
Clint

Leave the lid off and valve open while it dries next time.

While I don’t sanitize my tuns, I would use a little iodophor or peroxide to get rid of something like that.
