Nice read, Denny.  Reminds me to some degree of the story about a family’s way of cooking the holiday roast - cutting off the end of the roast and cooking it in a separate pan.  After years of following Mom’s process, when the adult children finally asked Mom why she did that (expecting some culinary reason) - Mom says it is because the roast didn’t fit in the size of the pan she had...

I would add "SNS-active starters don't work on high gravity or lager beers."

And "Its possible to like Fuggles"

1. Why sparge hotter than 168 if it doesn't get you anything?

2. HSA is probably real in extreme cases of aeration...might as well try to avoid it.

3. Rachael Ray is not touching my wort. EVOO is a no go...

4. I'll give you this one....

5. Haven't used a dry yeast yet that I would use again...except US05. Haven't used a wet yeast yet that I wouldn't use again.

6. Not all Fuggles taste like dirt.
