CMBecker Intl. Gas QD Ck valve
« on: June 12, 2018, 06:00:18 pm »
I have these and they came without assy instructions. I wanted to clean it internally so I sent a note to the mfr.  They sent me the exploded views below.

Interesting. So the QD has an internal check valve?

That's cool isn't it? Just looked up their site.  How many times have I done some idiot move like forget to open the gas valve before attaching the QD and blown beer into my gas line....

Yes. They work great but lots of tiny springs, ball bearings, and valves so to disassemble to clean I had no reference to reassemble. This helps tremendously for that task.

Is there a benefit to using this QD over the standard gas shut off with built in check valve?

I can see, as suggested in my post above, not having to clean the line if there's an "oops," just this QD. I would like this for applications where beer blowback is virtually guaranteed,  like CP bottling with a splitter on the gas -- until the level in the keg drops, there's always blowback purging the first few bottles.

Not sure. I picked these up before I had a regulator with check valves.
