Identification of Hops (waterlogged labels)
« on: June 11, 2018, 04:30:43 am »
Hey there. Just wondering if anyone can help me identify some hops I'm growing. I had stapled labels to the frame of the raised garden they grow in, but they got waterlogged and now the names aren't there. There are only 6 plants. They are Chinook, Columbus, Golding, Cascade, Mt. Hood and Willamette. I'm going to take some close up's of each of the 6 plants and paste em up here later today.

I know identifying hops is difficult (particularly if the hops are completely unknown). But, does anyone out there think they can identify 6 hops of known variety?

I can tell you which of those varieties grow best in my location (VT) which might help once yours are established.  I too lost track of some varieties in my yard and just use my nose during harvest to tell me where I might use them in a recipe.  So now I have a "rustic American" and "Germanic" varieties instead of whatever names they previously had.
